Newsletter - Term 3 Week 3/4

Kia ora koutou!

Thanks to Helena for taking week 2’s Art lesson. The creations look amazing! We will be working further on this artistic technique in weeks to come. Our visual art session last week combined the elements we have been working on through the year: tone, 3D imagery, symmetry and creativity! These sculptural pieces should be finished by next week. Week 3  started well with a continuation of our climate change topic. Everyone has been given a science focussed ‘question’ to work on during the week. We will be sharing our findings this Tuesday!

In maths the students are learning about fractions and how to convert fractions to decimals and percentages. Next steps include learning to simplify fractions and then we’ll be moving in to adding them up. This work will tie into some of the Science investigations we’ll be conducting related to climate change and the proportions of gases in the air. Check the class blog for student’s ideas and responses to various movies they’ve been engaging in as part of this.
